What Licence Lookup NG collects and where its money comes from
This page explains what the site stores, what it does not store, what the hosting provider logs, what happens when you follow the outbound link to FxPro, and how to write to the desk about a figure that looks wrong.
What the site collects and what it does not
Licence Lookup NG collects nothing of its own. There are no accounts, no login, no newsletter, and no comment form. The site sets no cookie of its own, runs no analytics, and stores nothing in the reader's browser. A reader can open the pages, read the tables, and leave without the site recording a name, an email address, or any other personal detail.
The pages are served by a hosting provider which, like any web host, keeps its own technical request logs. Those logs are standard for any website: they record that a page was requested, from which IP address, at what time, and with which browser. The site's publisher does not read a reader's personal data out of those logs, and the logs are not used to build profiles or to track individuals across visits.
What the hosting provider logs, as any web host does
Every web host keeps technical logs so that it can run its servers, protect them from abuse, and diagnose faults. For this site, that means the provider may record the visitor's IP address, the page requested, the time of the request, the browser and operating system, and the referring page if there was one. These logs are kept for a limited period and are not shared with the publisher in a form that identifies individual readers.
A reader who wants to leave no trace in those logs can use a VPN or the Tor browser, but that is a choice for the reader, not something this site requires or encourages. The site itself does not ask for any information, so there is nothing to opt out of on these pages. The only personal data that could appear in the logs is the IP address, and that is not read by the desk for any editorial purpose.
Following the outbound link to the broker
The site links to one broker, FxPro, through an affiliate link. When a reader clicks that link and then opens an account at FxPro, the site may be paid a commission by the broker. The reader pays nothing to this site and nothing extra at the broker because of that link; the commission comes out of the broker's own funds. This relationship must be stated plainly, and it is stated here: the site is funded by that affiliate commission and by nothing else.
Following the link leaves this site and takes the reader to FxPro's own website, which is operated by someone else, under its own terms and its own privacy policy. From that point on, the broker collects what it collects, stores what it stores, and answers for its own handling of personal data. This site has no control over the broker's pages, and the broker's privacy policy is the one that applies there.
How to write about data questions
Writing to the address on the contact page reaches the desk. The address is editor@licencelookupng.pages.dev, and it exists for corrections. If a figure on these pages is wrong, a reader can write to say which table, which row, and what the correct figure should be, and the desk will check the named public source. A figure that is wrong is corrected, and the correction is dated on the page so that a later reader can see what changed and when.
Questions about how the data was collected are also welcome. The desk reads the SEC Nigeria's register, groups the rows by the category the SEC gives, and republishes the result with the date and the hour it was read. If a reader believes that a row was misread or that the source has since changed, the desk can act on that. What the desk cannot answer is investment advice: nothing on this site recommends any broker, any market, or any action.
